Pipičus is a work by Slovak artist Viktor Frešo, based on his renowned sculpture Pičus. The piece depicts a small man with a disproportionate figure and an arrogantly angry expression, embodying arrogance, negativity, insecurity, and an insidiously unhealthy sense of self-importance. Standing approximately one meter tall, the sculpture combines the essence of negative human emotions with the absurdity of exaggerated proportions, creating a blend of ridiculousness, meaningless pretension, and arrogance.

The name Pipičus refers to a person caught between the ridiculous smart aleck and the maliciously conceited type. In everyday life, such a personality might provoke irritation, but as a sculpture, it amuses the viewer and evokes a sense of relaxation and humor, paradoxically improving the mood. At the same time, Frešo’s work offers a critical and somewhat contemptuous reflection on the art scene itself.
