Pavlína Kvita

Pavlína Kvita (*1988) is one of the talented younger sculptors who bring a fresh perspective to contemporary art. She studied in Lukáš Rittstein’s sculpture studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. To materialize her ideas, she uses modelling techniques with sculptural clay or wax. Her sculptures work with the traditional scheme of free-standing sculpture, and the resulting material is predominantly glass concrete or artificial stone. In her latest works, we encounter a specific anthropomorphic organicity that stands out for its formal economy and plasticity. Enigmatic solitaires emerge from the depths of her inner mental space and transform into animal or humanoid forms shaped by personal mythology. Reflections on good and evil are living evidence of transformations that mirror the instability of eternity and serve as testimony to the parallel presence of death and birth. She draws inspiration from suburban environments and everyday life, which she transforms into poetic sculptural objects that connect the symbolism of natural elements with the abstract expression of emotions.

Her works have been presented at numerous exhibitions in the Czech Republic and abroad.
