Ondřej Navrátil
Ondřej Navrátil (*1998) studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague after training as an artistic blacksmith. He also creates comics. His sculptures contain elements of storytelling, and he often refers to his work as sculptural comics. His work is strongly influenced by Greek mythology. His favorite god is Hermes. His works often resemble archaeological finds from other worlds and combine elements of myth, history, and fictional reality. His work blends precise craftsmanship with a free narrative structure. Ondřej Navrátil develops his practice not only in classical materials such as marble, copper, and steel, but also explores new forms and combinations. His work has been featured in a number of exhibitions, and his approach ranks him among the prominent young talents of the Czech sculpture scene.
