The latest series of embroidered paintings, Sleepers, explores themes of dreaming, tranquility, and physical exhaustion. The artist combines textile materials such as satin and chiffon with glass beads, which bring the fabric’s surface to life in soft light. The resulting works appear both fragile and intimate—like visual diaries in which touch, breath, and thought are transformed into visible structures.
About author
Kateřina Šťastná (*1993) belongs to the young generation of artists. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Her work has long focused on physicality. She is interested in the relationship that arises at the moment of inhalation between our body and the space that surrounds it. Her work ranges from drawing to bead embroidery and sculpture. Her work radiates both fragility and strength.
