The artist’s current work increasingly turns to the legacy of the Italian Renaissance – a period that has long fascinated him. He is particularly captivated by the work of Giovanni Bellini, especially his Madonna and Child iconography, several outstanding examples of which can be seen at the Gallerie dell’Accademia in Venice. The artist has a painting studio in Venice, where he created his own distinctive interpretations of this iconic motif.
The six original lithographs, titled Madonna and Child (Bellini) I–VI, were produced at the Říční Lithography Studio.
The lithographs are available individually or as a complete set of six pieces, presented in a custom artist’s portfolio at a special price.
About author
Jakub Špaňhel (*1976) is a Czech painter known for his gestural style. In his work, he often experiments with different materials and techniques. He explores themes with regard to personal experience. His paintings feature motifs of temple interiors, still lifes, flowers, and butterflies. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and is one of the most sought-after artists on the contemporary art scene.
